Timber work down the Fleurieu coast
We're a Seaford-based building crew, and the Fleurieu coast is a regular run for us. Victor Harbor sits about eighty kilometres south, an easy drive down for a deck or pergola that's worth doing. We won't tell you we live around the corner. We travel down the coast for timber work because it's the kind of building we like, and the coast is worth the trip.
Our recent work is up the coast and across the south. We built a hardwood pool deck at Willunga, tight mitred boards around the water with a valley view, put a boundary fence and gate on another Willunga block, and built a pergola and outdoor living space at Corromandel Valley. Willunga is up the coast from Victor Harbor, closer to town, and the same hardwood detailing carries straight down to a Fleurieu block.

What timber suits a coastal Fleurieu block?
Close to the water at Victor Harbor, Port Elliot or Middleton, salt air is the thing to design around, so we pick hardwood species and fixings that handle it. A little further back from the beach it's more about sun and seasonal movement. We choose the timber for your block, not off a standard list. Our decking timber guide runs through the options.
Do I need council approval?
Victor Harbor sits in the City of Victor Harbor council, and Goolwa falls under Alexandrina. Whether you need development approval comes down to size, height and how close the build is to a boundary.
